BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT

In order to provide a well-planned and integrated framework for the development of its Health sector industries, the Auvergne region has developed specialised facilities, with five business 'bioparks', each one based on one of the region's research centre specialisms:

> The Haute-Auvergne Biopôle business park, (agri-foods and environmental engineering), in the Cantal,
> The Vichy-Hauterive Biopark (health - beauty - fitness), in the Allier,
> The Naturopôle business park (plant bioengineering), in the Allier,
> AGRO’3 in Moulins (agro-foods), in the Allier,
> Le Clermont-Limagne Biopôle business park (life sciences), in the Puy-de-Dôme.

In addition, the Auvergne offers project sponsors a new business incubator (BUSI) and a Local Initiatives Forum specializing in living organism biotechnologies (the Auvergne Technologies Biopôle).

Various industry groups enable the different businesses in this sector to 'network': GIMRA (medicines), NUTRAVITA (human nutrition), BIOmac (biotechnologies in the Massif-Central).
